Dear people of Edinburgh of the Seven Seas,
I am proud to be able to write you this letter. Certainly, I do not represent anyone for you. Nevertheless, I thought so much about your lives, I have read so much about you, that I would love to be able to come and visit your island one day. Is it just a dream? Yes, it is probably a dream. I want you know that I am a great admirer of yours. I am a guy who likes remote islands and that appreciates their people, because they do not bow to globalization. You live of simple things. You “people of Tristan”, you carpe diem, without doubts.
You live day by day, you have good idea of what your roles is in your little society. I imagine your island as a place where war and hate are not entirely clear things. That’s another reason that leads me to think that you live in a happy island. I write this letter to congratulate with you: as a citizen of the world, I think you are the example of an active citizenship. I hope that one day some Tristan’s citizens will read this letter, that now I’m throwing into the web-sea, hoping someone would answer me and explaining me the concept of loneliness as happiness.
Best Regard
Francesco Wolfgang Pili
